Pixie Capers

17” wide X 9” deep X 21” tall

One day my five year old neighbor came knocking at my studio door, bearing gifts. She had found the most enormous acorn caps and wanted to give them to me, knowing I would find a use for them. I thought they would make perfect hats for elves. My pixies sport these wonderful acorn caps, along with nylon tights and scarves sewn with silk habotai leaves. The background is needlefelted wool, cotton and silk. The tree “bark” is made of individually needlefelted bits of wool, scrim and chiffon, edges burned and sewn to the tree base.
